Dressage fever

Its officially spring now and COTD (crazy obsessive tackmakers disease) has taken hold. Its spring break now so no school to slow me down! I delved right into the world of pattern-making, and rooted around to find my trad. scale dressage pattern to have a play with...and this was the result! Im prettey pleased with it, plus the bride was one i made a couple of months back, just i didnt like the nose and browbands so i pulled em off and started again...poor bridle! ohh well, now its a ll pink and sparkly! Plus the head its modelled on need to e attached to its body, thats if i can be bothered to finishe sculpting it anytime soon....Anyways, this set is just awaiting stirrups, reins and a girth before i ship it out as an auction donation to the UK MEC's (model equine championships)

update!

I have recently been working on a traditional scale showjump set that is nearing completion, but typical disorganised me hasnt had the time to take pictures! D'oh! Well, to give you a vague idea its brown and havana two tone, with subtle blue crystals on the browband and martingale of the bridle-oh and some on the cantle aswell....i couldnt resist those! But for now, some more pics of the police saddle set! Closeup of the bridle/headcollar combo....

the ickle little brushing booties :) Im prettey pleased how these turned out, you would think somehting so small wouldnt take that long to make but man, i was wrong! Took about 2 hours just to get these guys done!
and the saddle! I think this may be the best one yet...i have started stitching my knee rolls onto the saddle to prevent them falling off with loads of wear, plus this was a brand new pattern, and i like! Hope everybody else thinks the same.....:P
Until next time......

majorly overdue update

This is what i have been working on for the pas week or so...! Progress has been slow but sure, and we now have what is vaguely reconiseable as a ploice horse tack set. This poor set has been sat on a shelf for 6months as i moved onto other projects that needed finishing for bloomin deadlines. I have completed the saddle, bridle/headcollar combo, brushing boots, both girths and breastplate. Now i just got the saddlebags and back boots to go.....

Good mail day

Looky what i recived in the mail (bar the sheik)-3 rather sad looking remake bodies! A breyer TWH and pacer with a broken leg, and a peter stone WHP/QH, not really sure what he is!! I cant wait to unleash my knives, heat guns, sanpaper and paint on these guys ;) Im thinking liver chesnut or silver dapple for the pacer, some form of grey or bay for the WHP and cremello/sabino for the TWH? Suggestions welcome, im kinda stuck! :P

My scary new pony....!

......And this is him!! He was a breyer sheik hanoverian, no more! Im gonna change him into a portrait of my horse,Twilight (no not named after the movie, he came 20 years before that :L), He still needs a LOT of work, leg repositioning, filling in that 'broken' neck where i melted him whilst trying to create an outline....and of course paint! His tail is from a sailinero and still needs finishing (another to add to the list!).....Take a look!
